Liberty Hose Co. No. 2 - Incident Detail #1665

Truck 22 was dispatched to assist Company 24 along with companies 23 and 66, to 436 East Market Street in Williamstown for a reported structure fire. A caller had reported smoke coming from the basement. Truck 22 responded with a crew of seven, and on arrival, was advised by command to stage behind Tanker 24 on side-A and provide ladders to the roof so that a crew could examine the chimney of the residence. Command advised of a probable furnace malfunction, a result of a bad chimney. A crew also set up the PPV fan on side-A, but it was not needed. After clearing the chimney, which was found to be cracked, command released the truck, which returned to quarters. There was a light rain falling, with temperatures in the low to mid 30's, and as the Truck backed into Station 22, freezing rain began.
