Liberty Hose Co. No. 2 - Incident Detail #2692

The 22-1 local box dispatched class one to 464 Main Street in Lykens for a structure fire, flames showing from the first floor. This brought Engine and Truck 22, Engine and Rescue 23, Engine 24, and Schuylkill Rescue Engine 22-11 for the out of service Rescue 21. Engine 22 responded with 6 and tagged the hydrant at Main and Pine and took the A/B corner of a 2 and one half story wood frame single family dwelling with fire showing from the first floor front window. Truck 22 responded with 7 and approached from the West Street side of Main Street and took side A. Utility 22 responded with 4 and staged in the 500 block of Main Street. Engine, Rescue and Attack 23 arrived and staged in the 500 block of Main Street. Rescue 23 tagged the hydrant across from the Mid Penn Bank in the middle of the 500 block of Main Street and laid 5 inch up to the intersection of Main and Pine Streets. Engine 24 approached from South Second to Pine, tagging the hydrant at South Second and Pine and staging on side B. Rescue Engine 22-11 arrived and staged behind Truck 22. The Engine crew sent a team interior with a can and another with a 2 inch line while the Truck crew split and laddered the building and sent an additional team inside with a can. Fire was knocked down quickly by crews from 22 and 23. A search was conducted into the building until all residents were accounted for. Salvage and overhaul began while the Truck crew began ventilation. Secondary searches were completed and command began releasing companies. Initial fire was contained to the front room with extensive smoke throughout the rest of the house. After returning all equipment to service the box was placed available.
