Covent Garden Opera House Fire

At 4:55 a.m. on March 5, 1856, fire destroyed the royal opera house at Covent Garden in half an hour. There was no loss of life. It was the second Covent Garden Opera House, built after the first one was destroyed by fire in 1808. |
