Company-22 was dispatched to assist EMS with the extrication of a cardiac arrest victim from a second floor bedroom window. Engine-22 responded with a crew of six, Truck-22 with a crew of five. The Engine staged at Market and North Streets, with the Truck going to side-1. Unable to raise boom due to wires, the crew used a ladder haul system with a stokes basket and ropes to extricate and remove patient from the second floor window to an awaiting ambulance for transport.
At the request of EMS on scene Company 22 dispatched class three to 616 Park View Road in Lykens for a lift assist. Chief and Lieutenant 22 responded to the scene POV and Truck 22 went enroute with 7. On arrival, the crew assisted EMS with removing the patient from the residence to their transport unit and then went available.
At the request of Medic 6 on scene, Company 22 dispatched class three to 120 Main Street in Lykens for a lift assist. Engine 22 responded with 6 and Chief 22 POV. On arrival the crew assisted EMS with packaging and removing the patient from the residence to their transport unit and then went available.
Company 23 and Truck 22 dispatched class one to 6599 Route 209 in Wiconisco Township for a Carbon Monoxide alarm. Truck 22 went enroute with 7 and was canceled shortly after response by command.
Company 22 and Engine 23 dispatched class one to 15 South Second Street in Lykens at the Rattling Creek Apartments for an automatic fire alarm. Chief 22 went enroute POV and Engine 22 with 3 and Rescue 23 with 3. One additional member responded POV to the scene. On arrival Rescue 23 staged on side A and Engine 22 on side D. Command found that a resident had pulled the third floor west stairway hand pull station but there was no fire. The alarm panel and station was reset to clear the alarm. While the crew was there a resident in the lobby experienced a medical event and EMS was requested to the scene. The crew established patient care until the arrival of medic 6. After transferring care to them command placed the box available.
Company 22 and Engine 23 dispatched class one to 578 Main Street in Lykens at Ciaos Restaurant for an automatic fire alarm. Chief 22-2 responded POV to the scene and on arrival spoke with an employee who advised that the alarm was an accidental trip. He placed the box in service.
At the request of Medic 6 on scene Company 22 dispatched class three to 601 Main Street at the Israel Building for a lift assist. Chiefs 22 and 22-2 responded POV to the scene and Utility 22 went enroute with 3. On arrival the crew assisted EMS with moving the patient from the apartment to their unit for transport. Command then placed the Company available.
Rowand Taylor burnt at Hadleigh, in England, for resisting the establishment of papal worship in his church. Great efforts were made to induce him to recant, which he firmly rejected, and proceeded to the stake with great courage. During the burning, he stood without crying or moving until one of the executioners struck him on the head and his corpse fell down into the fire.

Ehime Maru and USS Greeneville Collision - Oahu, HI
The Ehime Maru, a Japanese fishing training ship, and USS Greeneville, a United States Navy submarine, collided at sea on February 9, 2001, about 9 nautical miles off the south coast of Oahu, Hawaii. In a demonstration for some civilian visitors, Greeneville performed an emergency surfacing maneuver. As the submarine surfaced, it struck and seriously damaged the Ehime Maru, a high-school fishing training ship from Ehime Prefecture, Japan. Within minutes of the collision, Ehime Maru sank. Nine of its crew members were killed, including four high school students.
