Chimney Fire, 300 Division Street (Box 22-1)

Engines 22 and 23 were dispatched to the Laing residence at 300 Division Street for a chimney fire. Engine 22 responded with a crew of nine personnel, approaching the scene via North Street from Market Street. While still about four blocks away, the engine crew could see flames several feet in the air coming from the chimney. Upon arrival, the crew split - with some going to the roof and others going to the basement. A crew was also sent to the attic to check for possible extensions. Furnace pipes were pulled and cleaned, and the roof crew applied chimflex down the chimney to extinguish the fire. No extension of fire was found. The crews re-attached the furnace pipes, and went available.

Medical assist for cardiac arrest, 1001 Main Street (Box 22-2)

Company 22 dispatched to 1001 Main Street in Lykens for a cardiac arrest to assist EMS. Truck 22 responded with 5 and all three Chiefs responded POV. On arrival, crew assisted Medic 6-5 with CPR until advised that a signal 12 was called. Crew then went available.

Structure Fire, 1601 Mountain House Road (Box 19-3)

Companies 19, 29, and Truck 22 dispatched for a reported structure fire at 1601 Mountain House Road in Wayne Township. Chief 19 arrived on scene and reported a working fire and asked for the first alarm assignment, which added companies 216 and 21 to the box. Truck 22 responded with 7, and on arrival staged on Mountain House Road and sent the manpower back a lane to the 1 and 1/2 story wood frame home. The crew was assigned to salvage and tarp the interior. Crew also assisted with a crew from Rescue 21 on the roof. Crew performed overhaul and pulled ceilings and assisted with suppression activities until released by command.

Fuel Spill , 328 Market Street (Box 22-1)

Company 22 dispatched class one to 328 Market Street in Lykens for a report of a fuel oil spill in the basement. Chief 22 and 22-2 responded to the scene, and Engine 22 responded with 4. Command reduced the response to class three. On arrival, crews went to the basement and found no leak or fuel oil, just a puddle of water next to the furnace. Command placed the box available.
