Fire broke out at a stable to the rear of Clinton Shoop's lot on West Main Street at about 4:30 PM. The alarm sounded and the company responded. In a few minutes, they had the fire out.

Company 22 dispatched class three to 801 Market Street in the Boro to assist an extremely obese occupant. Power was out in the Boro as a result of heavy snow that pulled a tree down over power lines. Crew set up a generator at the residence and went available.
2014
Elevator Rescue, 15 South Second Street (Box 22-1)
Company 22 and Rescue 23 dispatched class one to the Rattling Creek Apartments at 15 South Second Street in the Boro for an elevator rescue. Power was out in the Boro as a result of a snow storm, and the facility's emergency generator had failed. Engine 22 responded with 4 and Truck 22 with 3. On arrival, crew extricated one person from the elevator who was not injured. The Rescue and Truck were placed available and the Engine crew awaited the arrival of the building's maintenance crew who re-started their emergency generator, and then went available.
Engine 22, Engine and Rescue 23, Engine 24, Rescue 21 and Truck 20 dispatched class one to the Alfa Laval Thermal Plant at 300 Chestnut Street for a reported structure fire. Chief 22 responded POV, and Engine 22 responded with 6. On the arrival of the Chief, he found a dust collector bin on fire in the center of the plant, and instructed Engine 22 to lay in from the hydrant at Hanna and Chestnut Streets and send manpower with PWs to the center of the plant. Chief 22-2, on board Engine 22, messed up the assignment and had the engine lay in from the hydrant at Lehr and Hanna Streets. Engine 23 picked up the hydrant at Hanna and Chestnut and pulled a hand line into the plant to the dust bin. Crews from 22 and 23 extinguished the fire using PWs and overhauled the dust bin with hand tools. Rescue 21 and Engine 24 stood by outside. After control was marked, dispatch advised command of a second incident in the Boro (see call number 20) and Command released Engine 24, Rescue 21, and Truck 20 to respond to the other incident while crews from 22 and 23 cleaned up the call at this location. After the filters to the dust bin were removed to the outside, and plant personnel started up their ventilation system, command placed the box available.
While units from 22, 23, 24, 21, and 20 were working or enroute to a fire at Alfa Laval Thermal in Lykens (see call number 19), County advised Chief 22 of a second incident at 50 Reiff Street in Lykens at the Reiff and Nestor Plant for a water flow alarm. Chief 22 redirected companies 21, 24, and 20 to the R & N call. Chief 24 on board Utility 24 responded to this call and on arrival assumed command. An investigation of the plant found no problem, and Chief 24 placed the box available.
Company 21, 26 and Truck 22 dispatched class one to the Elizabethville Quarry at 3633 Route 225 in Washington Township for a commercial structure fire. Truck 22 went enroute with 7 and one member POV and on arrival was directed back into the quarry to the B side of a 40 foot by 40 foot 5 story asphalt plant with smoke pouring from the top of it. Crews from Engine and Rescue 21 were on the landing of the top floor while the Truck set up and began ripping metal siding off the building to gain access to where the fire was located. Tankers 21 and 26 also on scene. As openings were made water was put on exposed areas of fire. This continued for quite some time until all hidden fire was dug out and extinguished. The Truck continued with ripping off metal sheeting until control was marked and command began releasing units. The Truck was later cleared from the event.
A single vehicle accident occurred on March 31, 2007, in Halifax Township. The driver of a 2007 Ford Focus lost control while driving on Creek Road. The vehicle left the road, struck a mailbox, overturned down an embankment, and struck a tree.
