Engine-22 and Tanker-22 were dispatched to assist Company-23 on a brush fire located at the Meadowbrook Coal Company. Engine-23 on scene reported a 25 foot by 25 foot area of brush on fire, spreading close to a structure. Engine-22 responded with a crew of four. Tanker-22 responded with a crew of two. Chief-22 responded POV. Upon arrival, crews pulled handlines and set up a porta tank to supply engines on the scene with water. Tanker-24 and Tanker-21 were special called to assist with tanker shuttle. Water was drawn from a hydrant in Lykens on South Second Street near the swimming pool. Extensive mopup and overhaul of the area was performed by the crews. Victor-15 (PA Dept of Forestry) was also on the scene. Crews extinguished hot spots, cleaned up apparatus, and returned in service.

Pole Fire, 417 West Street (Box 22-1)

Company 22 dispatched class three to 417 West Street in Lykens for a telephone pole on fire. Chiefs 22 and 22-1 responded POV to the scene, and Engine 22 responded with 5 and Utility 22 with 4. On arrival, crew found the top 2 feet of a PPL pole on fire. The pole number was relayed to dispatch and requested PPL to the scene. Crew established a safe zone, and remained until PPL crews showed up. Command then placed the box available.

Smoke in a Structure, 205 South Second Street (Box 26-1)

Companies 26, 27, 28, 21 and Truck 22 dispatched class one to 205 South Second Street in Berrysburg Boro for a report of smoke in a structure. Truck 22 responded with 7 and two additional members POV. As they approached Berrysburg, command directed the Truck to stage in the parking lot of Schianos Restaurant. Crew remained there until released by command.

AFA, 550 Main Street (Box 22-1)

Company 22 and Engine 23 dispatched class one to the Mid Penn Bank at 550 Main Street in Lykens for an automatic fire alarm, reported first floor lobby. Chief 22 went enroute POV to the scene and was advised by the Comm center that a call from the Bank reported a small child had yanked a pull station in the Bank lobby. He held all units in quarters. Company 22 held in quarters with 10 and Engine 22 held in quarters with 5. After his arrival on scene of a 2 story 30 by 50 foot commercial bank and confirmation of a false alarm Chief 22 placed the box in service.
