Tanker and Engine 22 were dispatched for a structure fire in Jefferson Township, a house reported to be struck by lightning. Tanker and Engine 22 responded and were canceled while enroute.
At the request of Chief 6A, Utility 22 dispatched class three to 801 Market Street in Lykens to assist EMS with the transfer of an extremely obese patient from their transport unit to his residence. Utility 22 responded with 4 and 2 members went to the scene POV. On arrival, the crew assisted Medic 6 with moving the patient back into his residence and then went available.
Company 22 dispatched class one to the Lykens Road in Jackson Township on the 216-8 box approximately 2 miles back from Powells Valley Road for a cardiac arrest AED response. Chief 22 went enroute POV followed by Utility 22 with 2 and Engine 22 with 6. Seven other members responded POV to the scene. On arrival the crew found an individual on the road in full arrest with CPR started. The AED was applied and multiple shocks delivered while CPR was continued. Medic 6 arrived on scene and the crew continued to assist them with patient care. The patient was transferred to Medic 6 and taken to the Wiconisco station 23 LZ for transport to Hershey Med. The patient was awake and talking to emergency personnel before transferring to the helo. Command placed the fire units available.
Engine 23 and Truck 22 dispatched class one to 302 Pottsville Street in Wiconisco Township for a residential fire alarm. Truck 22 was canceled by Command 23 before a response.
Company 22 dispatched class three to 618 Laurel Lane in Lykens for an assist for extrication from a residence. Utility 22 responded with 2 and 4 additional members went POV. On arrival the crew assisted EMS with extricating and transferring the patient to their unit and were then placed available.
An auto accident occurred at Glen Park in Lykens on the night of Wednesday, June 6, 1934. A car driven by Arthur James of Williamstown attempted to pass a car driven by Elmer Reed of Williamstown. The James car swerved too quickly to the center of the highway and the left front wheel of the Reed car collided with it. Reed's car then struck a tree and ran down the embankment near the park food pavillion.
A defective air recirculating system attached to air conditioning ducts caused a roof fire at the Johnson Baillie Shoe Company in Millersburg around 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 1969. The Millersburg and Halifax fire companies responded to the blaze. The fire damaged part of the roof, and there was smoke and water damage to other parts of the factory, but nobody was injured.
