At the request of Chief 23-2, Engine 22 dispatched class one to the station 23 landing zone to handle an incoming helicopter. Rescue 23 was on scene in Wiconisco Township for a medical assist call for a cardiac arrest. Engine 22 responded with 5, and on arrival activated the LZ lights and landed Life Lion. EMS arrived at the LZ, and after conferring with the flight crew, the helicopter was released with no patient transported, and Engine 22 went available.
At the request of Lykens PD, Company 22 requested to assist him to the rear of the Family Dollar Store across from Dracool Manufacturing in the 600 block of South Second Street in Lykens to disconnect a car battery from a vehicle. The company was just about to move out on the annual carnival parade, and Truck 22 responded to assist with 7. On arrival, Lieutenant 22 determined that there was still something smoldering under the hood of the vehicle and requested Engine 22 to respond. Engine 22 responded with 4 and on arrival, pulled a hand line and extinguished some smoldering material under the hood. After clearing the roadway the box was placed available.
Company 21 and Truck 22 dispatched class one to 1305 North Second Street in Washington Township in the village of Loyalton for a residential automatic fire alarm. Engine and Rescue 21 responded and Truck 22 went enroute with 7. Engine 22 added on with 6. The Truck arrived on side A of a 1 story rancher and was advised by command that it was burnt food, and was placed available.
Company 22 officers dispatched class three to 512 Market Street in Lykens for a public service call. Chiefs 22 and 22-2 responded POV and on arrival at the scene did an investigation. It was determined that the fire company's services were not needed and the box placed in service.
The first practice of the newly formed band, as an auxiliary unit of Liberty Hose Company No. 2, in Lykens, was held on the evening of Tuesday, June 20, 1939, in the Lykens Municipal Building. The band was under the direction of John Page. The assistant director was Harry McCall.
On the afternoon of Friday, June 20, 1969, Leroy Snyder, of Wiconisco, and Helen Harling, of Duncannon, were traveling eastbound on Route 325, when Snyder's car crashed into the rear of Harling's car, causing $200 damage.
