Structure Fire, Back Rd (Box 19-1)

Tanker 22 was dispatched to a structure fire on Back Road in Wayne Township. Tanker 22 responded with a crew of three, and arrived on scene to find a two story wood home well involved. Due to the length of time it took to arrive on the scene, a majority of the fire was knocked down by crews from Carsonville, Halifax, Fisherville, and Elizabethville. The tanker was staged on Back Road, and the crew walked the lane to the scene and assisted with salvage and overhaul until released by command.

Structure Fire, 300 Main St (Box 22-1)

Engine 22-1 was returning from a parade in Hegins. When they were in the 300-Block of Main Street, they detected a strong wood burning odor, but found nothing. As they were backing the engine into Station 22-2, a first alarm assignment was dispatched for an attic fire at 300 Main Street. Engine and Truck 22 responded, along with Engine and Squad 23 and Engine 24. Engine 22 arrived on scene, taking side 1, while the truck took side 4. Engine 23 had side 1/2, and Engine 24 stood by at the hydrant at the corner of North Second and Edward Streets. The crew advanced a line through the front door and up the stairs to a third floor bedroom, where they encountered a room and contents fire. The fire was knocked down and damage was held to the room of origin. The source of the fire was determined to have been an un-attended candle burning on top of a dresser.

Medical Assist, 218 Market Street (Box 22-1)

Company 22 was requested by EMS to assist with getting a patient out of a residence at 218 Market Street. Truck 22, under the command of Chief 22, responded with a crew of four and assisted EMS as requested.

Medical Assist, 522 North Second Street (Box 22-1)

Company 22 was dispatched to assist EMS with extricating a patient from a second floor bedroom in an apartment at 522 North Second Street. The truck was enroute to a carnival parade in Williamstown at the time of dispatch, and responded instantly with a crew of five. Engine 22 followed shortly thereafter with a crew of five, and Chief 22 responded POV. Engine 22 arrived on scene and assisted EMS with patient care until the arrival of Truck 22. The truck set up on side A and removed the patient through a second floor bedroom window by using a stokes basket. The patient was transported by Medic 6 to Station 23, where Engine 23 set up a landing zone for Life Lion helicopter to land. The patient was transferred to the helicopter for transport to a hospital.

Automatic Fire Alarm, 9781 Route 209 (Box 24-2)

Engine and Tanker 24, Engine 66, and Truck 22 dispatched to 9781 Route 209 at the Twin Valley Alliance Church for a reported automatic fire alarm. Truck 22 responded in two minutes with 7, and as they arrived on scene they were placed in service by Chief 24.

Smoke in a Structure, 610 Market Street (Box 22-1)

Company 22, Engine and Rescue 23, Engine 24, Rescue 21, and Air Lite 66-60 dispatched to 610 Market Street in Lykens for a report of smoke in a structure. Engine 22 responded with 5, Truck 22 with 3, and 6 members responded from the station on foot since the location was right behind Station 22. Engine 22 laid a 5 inch line in from the hydrant at Arch and Market, and set up on the A/D corner. Truck 22 responded in by way of South Street and took up the A/B corner. Captain 22 had command. The engine crew pulled one 1 3/4 line and advanced it uncharged to the rear of the structure while the truck crew laddered the building. A crew went interior and found that power was off to the basement and kitchen of the house. Two breakers were tripped, and the problem was isolated to the kitchen circuit. Investigation of the breaker box found water had entered the panel and shorted out the power. The main breaker was shut off and the crew checked for any extensions. The home owner was advised to get an electrician in to service the panel. The box was cleared and all units were placed available.

Barn Fire, 119 Radel Road (Box 19-3)

Truck 22 dispatched on the 19-3 box in Wayne Township at 119 Radel Road for a fully involved barn fire. Truck 22 responded with 7 and Utility 22 with 3, and on arrival set up on the B side and pulled 5 inch to be supplied by Engine 216 and prepared for elevated master stream operations. Command went to a defensive operation and the master stream was not needed. The Truck stood by until released by command and then went available.
2016
Structure Fire, 210 West Market Street (Box 24-1)

First alarm assignment dispatched class one to 210 West Market Street in Williamstown for a working structure fire, bringing companies 24, 23, 22, and Schuylkill 647. Truck 22 responded with 3, Utility 22 with 1, and 3 members POV to the scene. On arrival, the Truck took the address of a 2 1/2 story wood frame house with fire showing in the attic area and blowing out the B and D side windows. Crews went to work on suppression and ventilation as Command requested a second alarm for additional manpower. Units on scene: Units: Engines: 24, 23, 21, 27, Schuylkill 647, Schuylkill 66-10, Schuylkill 650 Rescues: 23, 21, 28, Schuylkill 647 Truck 22 Tankers: 24, 23, 21, 20, 26, Schuylkill 650, Schuylkill 810 Utility 22 Tanker 35 to Station 21 Rescue 28 to Station 23 Crew continued doing work until released by command 24.
2019
Accident with injury, Main and Market Streets (Box 22-1)

Company 22 and Rescue 23 dispatched class one to the square in Lykens at Main and Market Streets for a one car accident with injury. Chief 22-2 was on scene and had a single vehicle resting against the steps of a building with the driver out of the vehicle sitting on the sidewalk talking with PSP on scene. Rescue 23 was placed in service. Engine 22 responded with 6 and Utility 22 with 2 and 13 members walked to the scene from the station a half block away. Crews assisted EMS from Medic 6 with patient care and controlled fluids. Traffic was diverted around the accident scene until the arrival of a tow truck. After removal of the vehicle and cleanup of the fluids that were down, command placed the box available.

Tree Down, Powells Valley Rd (Box 216-8)
Detail >>
Company 22 dispatched class three to Jackson Township on the 216-8 box for a tree down on Powells Valley Road somewhere in the area of the dam. Utility 22 responded with 2 and searched Powells Valley Road all the way to the top of the mountain and found nothing. Utility went available.

CO Alarm, 425 South Second St (Box 22-1)

Engine 22 dispatched class three to 425 South Second street in Lykens for a CO alarm sounding. Engine 22 responded with 4 and on arrival staged side A of a 24 by 61 foot duplex 2 story residence. Crew took the CO meter interior and got no readings. The CO detector on the wall first floor was pulled and found to have bad batteries. The Engine was placed available.
