Companies 20 and 21 were at a structure fire. Chief-20 requested an engine to standby in Station-20. Engine-22 was dispatched to relocate to Millersburg. Upon arrival at Station-20, Company-20 had ten personnel manning a second engine in their station. Lieutenant-22, after conferring with Chief 20-3, decided to relocate Engine-22 to stand by in Station-21.
Engine 27 and Truck 22 from Dauphin County were dispatched to Schuylkill County in Hubley Township to the Quaker Plant at 191 Quaker Drive for a commercial structure fire. Schuylkill County companies Sacramento, Hegins, and Valley View were also dispatched. On arrival of Chief 14 (Sacramento), he had fire coming from a roof vent over a collector unit, and he requested a second alarm, bringing a Truck from Pine Grove, Engines from Klingerstown and Muir, as well as Truck 20 from Millersburg. Truck 22 responded with 7, and arrived on scene 18 minutes later and set up on side A and went to the roof. Pine Grove Truck 58-25 set up on the B/C corner and also went to the roof, where the two crews worked together to vent the roof in three places. Crews from Gratz and Sacramento worked the interior with assistance from other companies on scene. Perry Truck 2 was relocated to Station 20. Not long after Truck 20 arrived on scene, they were placed available. Crews found fire venting from the roof over the dust collector unit, and it took time to access and extinguish the flames. Crew assisted with roof ops on scene until released by command 14.
At the request of Medic 6, Company 22 dispatched class one to assist them at The Family Practice Center at 517 South Street in Lykens for a cardiac arrest. EMS started enroute and was in the 400 block of Main Street when Truck 22 responded with 4 and Chief 22 POV. On arrival with Medic 6, Chief 22 transferred to and drove the EMS unit to a rendezvous with another Medic unit, and the Truck went available.

Accident with injury, 5439 Powells Valley Road (Box 19-4)
Engine 22 dispatched class one as next due Engine for 19 on the 19-4 box for a motorcycle accident with injury in the area of 5439 Powells Valley Road in Jefferson Township, in the area known as "the handboard". Rescue 23 previously dispatched and enroute. Engine 22 responded with 6, and on arrival, assisted EMS with moving the patient from the side of the road to their transport unit. The Engine then went available.
Company 21, 26 and Truck 22 and EMS dispatched class one to 4955 Route 209 in Washington Township at the Tractor Supply Store for a report of smoke in a structure. Truck 22 responded with 7, and on arrival, set up on side A in front of a 1 story commercial retail store. The store had a loss of power and an odor of something burning inside. Engine, Rescue and Tanker 21 were set up on the C/D side and Engine and Tanker 26 were on the A/D corner. Crews went interior with thermal cameras to check conditions and found nothing. The Truck crew went to the roof to check conditions there and everything was normal. Investigation by the 21 crew found the three phase electrical meter appeared to be cocked in the base. Command released mutual aid companies and the Truck went available.
Truck 22 dispatched class one on the 19-3 box to 119 Radel Road in Wayne Township for a shed on fire. Reports indicated hay bales in a shed were on fire. The owner was able to remove the bales from the shed. Truck 22 responded with 7 and was canceled by command while enroute.
Truck 22 dispatched class one on the 27-1 box to 263 Center Street in Gratz for a structure fire. Truck 22 went responding with 5 and was canceled by command while enroute.
Two explosions of gas occurred at the Short Mountain Colliery at Lykens on August 23, 1886. Twenty men were seriously burned. James B. Bateman, the foreman, was painfully injured. The explosions were caused by lighting a lamp in the air hole.
