A vehicle accident occurred on Wednesday, September 24, 1947, on Route 209, south of Williamstown. A car plowed into the rear of an auto stopped on the roadway, causing it to overturn. Five people were injured. The five patients were given first aid at the office of Dr. W.E. Connelly in Williamstown. Mrs. Della Bates, age 71, of Harrisburg, was taken from there by the Williamstown Community Ambulance to the Polyclinic Hospital in Harrisburg. She was admitted in unsatisfactory condition, with a possible head injury, broken leg and collar bone, scalp laceration, and multiple bruises of the body.
