Crews from company 22 spent the night clearing trees down all over the Borough as a result of a heavy snow. This tree was removed by using chain saws, and then the crew moved on to next event.

Engine 22, Tanker 22, along with Companies 23, 24, and Tanker 20 were dispatched to a report of smoke in a structure at 400 Walnut Street, Wiconisco. Engine 22 responded shortly after Engine 23, and on arrival, staged until released by command.
Company 23, Engine and Truck 22, Engine and Tanker 24, Engine and Rescue 21 and Engine 27 dispatched class one to 522 Pottsville Street in Wiconisco Township for a report of smoke coming from the first floor apartment. Engine 22 responded with 6 and Truck 22 with 4. On arrival, the Engine staged at the hydrant at Spring and Pottsville Streets and the Truck staged behind Rescue 23. Investigation by 23 and 24 crews found a defective heater in an upstairs room, and command held the box to Company 23.
Company 22 fire police dispatched class one to 9207 Route 209 in Williams Township to assist Company 24 with traffic control at the scene of a two car accident with injuries. Utility 22 responded with 4 and on arrival, assisted 24 with traffic control at the scene until released by command.
A large barn on the Harry Bower farm was destroyed by fire on November 12, 1934. The Halifax and Community Fire Company responded. The loss was $2,500. Note: This was one of two barn fires that day for the Halifax fire company. This fire occurred nine hours after the first fire.

A barn on the farm of Henry Batdorf was destroyed by fire on November 12, 1934. The Halifax and Community Fire Company responded. The loss was $1,500. Note: This was one of two barn fires that day for the Halifax fire company.

Electrical Accident - Hegins Twp, Schuylkill County, PA
Luther Green, age 38, of Valley View, an employee at the Markson Coal Company in Valley View, was instantly killed on Friday, November 12, 1948, while at work. He was hauling pea coal to a stock bank 200 yards from the breaker. When he raised the body of the truck to dump the coal, it came in contact with a high tension wire carrying 23,000 volts. He was killed instantly.
