A chimney fire occurred in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bellon on South Second Street in Lykens on the morning of Thursday, December 13, 1945. Liberty Hose Company responded and extinguished the blaze. No damage was reported.
Truck-22 was dispatched for Truck-20 to an automatic fire alarm at Pro-Plastics Manufacturing Plant, 1317 Route-209 in Upper Paxton Township. The truck was placed in service by Chief-20 before response.

Medical Assist for lifting, 801 Market Street (Box 22-2)
Company 22 dispatched for a lift assist at 801 Market Street in Lykens. Request came from a Med-Ex crew transporting an extremely obese patient from their residence to the hospital. Truck 22 responded with 4, and Chiefs 22 and 22-2 went POV to the scene. On arrival, crew assisted the ambulance crew with transferring the patient from his home to their unit, and then went available.
2010
Medical Assist for lifting, 801 Market Street (Box 22-2)
Company 22 dispatched back to the scene of today's earlier call at 801 Market Street in Lykens to assist with moving an extremely obese patient from an ambulance to his residence. Engine 22 responded with 5 and Chief 22 POV to the scene. On arrival, the crew assisted with getting the patient back in his home and then went available.
2013
Smoke investigation outside, 432 Main Street (Box 22-1)
Company 22 dispatched class three to the 400 block of Main Street for a report of smoke outside. Caller stated that she lived on North Second Street and looking towards Main Street could see a lot of white smoke a few doors down from the American Legion building. Engine 22 responded with 3, and Truck 22 with 3. On arrival, The Engine crew spotted white smoke coming from the residence at 432 Main Street. After speaking to the occupant and going to the basement to investigate, it was determined that conditions were normal and there was no emergency. Occupant had just fired up the wood burner and added wood. Command placed the box available.
Truck 22 and Company 27 dispatched class one to 2233 East Main Street in Hubley Township, Schuylkill County, for a reported structure fire. Truck 22 was canceled before response.
Company 22 and Engine 23 dispatched class one to 50 Reiff Street at The Reiff and Nester Plant in Lykens for an automatic fire alarm. Chief 22 responded POV and on arrival took command. Engine 22 and Truck 22 each responded with 5 and Engine 23 responded. The Engine arrived on side A, Truck on the A/D corner, with Engine 23 on the C/D corner. Investigation and information from the alarm company indicated that the alarm was coming from a building in the plant complex known as the white house. An exterior search of the location found no audible or visible alarms. A key holder arrived on scene and the crews gained access to the building and found nothing. After an alarm reset, command placed the box available.
Company 22 OIC dispatched to 300 Chestnut Street at the Alfa Laval Thermal Corp plant for an automatic fire alarm. This was the same alarm that sounded early in the evening that was made an OIC call if it came in again. Chief 22 responded POV, and after confirmation from the plant manager that the alarm was false, placed the box available.
At the request of Medic 6-4 Company 22 dispatched class three to 626 North Street in Lykens for a lift assist. Chiefs 22 and 22-2 responded POV to the scene and Truck 22 went enroute with 2. On arrival, the crew assisted EMS with packaging and removing the patient from the residence to their unit for transport. Command then placed the company available.
2019
Smoke Investigation, 140 North West Street (Box 24-1)
At the request of Chief 24 on scene Truck 22 dispatched class three to 140 North West Street in Williamstown Boro to assist Company 24 with checking and cleaning a chimney. Company 24 had been dispatched to a report of smoke in the residence. Truck 22 responded with 7 and on arrival at a 2 story wood frame residence were unable to use the boom to go to the top of the chimney because of wires so the crew used ground ladders to access the roof. After checking and cleaning the chimney Command placed the Truck available.
The Mountain House Restaurant and Bar, 3382 Armstrong Valley Road, had fire in the basement, caused by a cigarette dropped in a trash can. Fire companies were on the scene for two hours. Units responding were: Engine 21, Tanker 21, Engine 216, Tanker 20, Ambulance 13-1, Engine 29, Engine 19, Chief 216, Ladder 20, Squad 29, Tanker 29 and Tanker 19.
