Engine 22 and Squad 23 were dispatched to an accident with possible injuries in front of Kevin's Place Restaurant on Main Street. Engine 22 and Squad 23 responded, and Chief 22 responded POV. Squad 23 was canceled, and Engine 22 arrived on scene. The crew assisted at the scene until released by command.
Engine 22 was dispatched for a car fire located directly in front of the entrance to the Century TV Cable Company office on North Second Street. Engine 22 responded with a crew of six and found a car with fire showing from the engine compartment. One hose was pulled and used to extinguish the fire.
Company 22 dispatched to 224 Main Street for a reported vehicle fire. Engine 22 responded and was advised that the vehicle fire was now reported out. On arrival, the crew confirmed that the fire was out and went available.
A full first alarm assignment was dispatched for a report of smoke in a structure. The location was the former United Methodist Church parsonage at 538 North Second Street. Engine-22 arrived on scene and after initial investigation, determined that the smoke was caused by a furnace malfunction. Truck-22 arrived on scene and assisted with chimney inspection. The rest of box was placed in service. The company vented the home, cleaned the chimney, and went available.
Engine-22, Engine-23, and Rescue-23 were dispatched for a report of a one-year-old female with her head trapped between a headboard and a box spring mattress in a bed. Lieutenant-22 responded to the scene from his home across the street and freed the victim. Engine-22 arrived with three personnel and assisted. Engine-23 was placed in service. The victim was taken to a local doctor for evaluation and the company went available.
Truck 22 due on the structure box for 21 Bendigo Street in Porter Township, Schuylkill County. Also dispatched from Dauphin County was Tanker 24, Rescue and Tanker 23, and 24 EMS. All Porter Township companies on scene along with Tower City. Truck 22 responded with 7, and arrived on scene and took side A, set up and went to the roof of a 2 story single family dwelling with smoke pushing from all floors. The building was laddered while a crew cracked the roof. First due companies did a quick knockdown, and the Truck crew went interior to help pull ceilings and perform overhaul until released by command 655.
At 10:01 a.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 1999, firefighters from Muir, Schuylkill County, responded to the intersection of East Wiconisco and Schwalmer Streets for trees down.
