Automatic Fire Alarm, 550 Main Street (Box 22-1)

Engine-22, Truck-22, and Engine 23 were dispatched to the Mid Penn Bank on Main Street for an automatic fire alarm. County advised the responding apparatus that a call was recieved from the bank indicating that cleaning personnel accidentally tripped a pull station alarm. The box was placed in service, and both companies were placed available.

Automatic Fire Alarm, 124 Autumn Drive Apt 24 (Box 24-3)

Engine 22 was dispatched as next due for Engine 24 on a 24-3 box for an alarm sounding in Apartment 24 at 124 Autumn Drive in Williams Township. Engine 23, already responding, was informed that the caller reported that the alarm was set off by a shower. Based on that information, Engine 23 held the response to Engine 23 and placed the other units in service. Engine 22 went in service.

Medical Assist, 251 North Street (Box 22-1)

Company 22 dispatched class 1 to 251 North Street in Lykens to assist EMS with a call. Truck 22 responded with 3, and Chief 22 and three others responded POV to the scene. On arrival, crew assisted EMS until released by command.
2017
AFA, 600 Main Street (Box 22-1)
Detail >>
Company 22 and 23 dispatched class one to the Lykens Hotel at 600 Main Street for an automatic fire alarm. Chief 22-2 went to the scene and on arrival had a 50 by 100 foot 4 story hotel under construction. After meeting with the construction foreman on side A it was determined that the alarm was activated by dust from construction work. Command placed the box available before any responses were made.

AFA, 9781 Route 209 (Box 24-2)

Company 24, Truck 22 and Schuylkill Engine 22-15 dispatched class one to 9781 Route 209 at the Twin Valley Alliance Church in Williams Township for an automatic fire alarm. Chief 24 went responding and was advised by dispatch that the facility called to report a false alarm triggered by cooking. With 15 members in station preparing to respond, Command placed the box in service.
2020
Structure Fire, 128 West Broad St (Box 24-1)

Company 22 dispatched class one to the 24-1 box to 128 West Broad Street in Williamstown for a reported structure fire. Truck 22 responded with 6, Engine 22 with 6, and Utility 22 with 5. On arrival the Truck took side A of a 40 foot by 80 foot wood frame 2 story re-used church building with a report of an occupant of the building not accounted for. Engine and Utility 22 arrived and staged behind the Truck. Truck crew was split with half laddering the building and the other half doing interior basement and second floor primary searches while crews from Companies 24 and 23 and Schuylkill 22-15 pulled a 1.5 inch line interior to the C side of the first floor. Crew from Engine 22 assisted the first floor crews with suppression. Bulk of fire was knocked down and crews went into overhaul mode. Truck and Engine 22 crews completed secondary searches. The occupant was found to be outside the structure. Crews continued to assist until released by command.

Medical Assist, 801 Market Street (Box 22-2)
Detail >>
At the request of Medic 6 on scene, Company 22 dispatched class three to 801 Market Street in Lykens Boro to assist with lifting a patient. Chief 22 responded POV and Truck 22 went enroute with 5. On arrival the Truck crew assisted EMS with lifting the patient into a chair and then went available.
2024
AFA, 9207 Route 209 (Box 24-3)
Detail >>
Company 24, Engine and Rescue 23 and Truck 22 dispatched class one to 9207 Route 209 in Williams Township at the National Guard Armory for an automatic fire alarm. Truck 22 responded with 5 and was canceled by Engine 24 while enroute.

A fire caused by faulty wiring killed 25 newborn infants in a hospital nursery in Rijeka, Yugoslavia, on March 28, 1975. The nurse on duty was asleep at the time of the fire.
