Chief 22 responded to the scene also and they both met at the front side A of a 3 story 19 foot by 61 foot wood frame row house with the owner standing out front. He relayed to the DO that he believed that the fire was in the walls and he had two family members not accounted for as well as numerous pets. The DO had previously requested that the structure box be dispatched based on dispatcher information, bring additional units from Wisconisco, Williamstown , Elizabethville and Gratz as well as Medic 6. The DO went to the second floor to perform a primary search, observing a light smoke condition on division 2. Chief 22 began a primary search on division 1 finding no smoke there. Upon reaching the rear door of the first floor Chief 22 discovered the 2 missing family members in the back yard, attempting to corral their 8 great danes. This information was relayed to incoming units. Engine 22 responded with 4 and approached from Market street and stopped long. The DO passed command to Chief 22 and assumed operations of the pump on Engine 22 and they had two members packed up and pulled the 300 foot preconnect from the rear and made entry thru division 1 front door. Tower 22 arrived on side A and prepared to set up. Squad 23 arrived on the D side and attempted to connect a supply line to a hydrant in front of 633 Main street but the hydrant failed. Engine 24 was responding down s09 behind them and stopped at the hydrant at Main and Spruce and laid 600 feet of 5 inch up to Squad 23. The Squad in turn pulle a section of 5 inch over to Engine 22 and supplied them. Two members of Squad 23 packed up and followed the 22 crew interior. A second pre connect from Engine 22 was pulled and taken in side A division 1 and was taken to division 3. The fire on division 2 was found to be an an area on the bravo side and knocked down. The crew that went to the third floor found fire with it running the cock loft. There was heavy hoarding conditions making line advancement and extinguishment difficult. Engine 27 arrived and set up the RIT assignment on side A. EMS staged in the Bower lot across the street from the structure. The Utility was used by the fire police to shut down traffic on Main and Market streets. With thick brown smoke now pushing out of the roof line Command requested an upgrade to the first alarm, bringing units from Millersburg, Berrysburg, Muir and Pine Grove and well as remaining units from Gratz and Elizabethville. Tower 20 responded and on arrival set up on the C side of the structure with Engine 21 and worked that side of division 3. Rescue 27 arrived and supplied additional manpower to assist the crews going in side A. Tower 22 vented the roof while Tower 20 opened up the C side of division 3. Williamstown EMS rehab unit 24-40 was requested to the scene. On arrival they staged and set up in the Bower lot across the street. Fire extinguishment efforts continued and despite the hoarding conditions were eventually successful. Overhaul with fresh crews rotating in from Muir and Pine Grove was ongoing. Fisherville Wagon 216 was relocated to Station 22, Sacramento Engine 14-10 to Station 27, Perry Tower 2 and Hegins Rescue Engine 13-50 to station 21.
