| | The fourth fire of the year, 1888, occurred in the house of William Harner which was occupied by Henry Ream. (Remember Henry? He helped load the hose for the first fire. He is also one of the founding members.) Liberty Hose Company made attachment and extinguished the fire in a few minutes. Rescue Hose Company came after the fire was out. They made attachment but did not turn on the water. |

| | Engine 22 was dispatched to a chimney fire at 427 South Second Street in Lykens. Engine 22 responded, and on arrival observed flames and smoke coming from the chimney of a large 2? story brick single family dwelling. The crew split into two groups, with one laddering the building and going to the roof, while the other went into the basement, shut down the furnace, and removed the piping to the chimney. Chimney chains were run to remove hot debris from the interior of the chimney, and crews cleaned out the pipes from the basement. After re-connecting everything and turning the furnace back on, the company went available. |

Chief 22 and Lieutenant 22-1 responded POV, and Engine 22 went enroute with 4. A tree was found down and across one lane of the road just above Minnich's Hit Road, but no car was found. The crew removed the tree from the roadway and went available. |

| | Company 22 notified by pager of a pump detail at 403 South Second Street in Lykens, a result of very heavy rains in the area all day. A total of 7 members using POV's and 2 portable pumps went to the location and pumped out about 1 foot of water from a basement, and then went available. |

Truck 22 responded with 5 and 2 additional members responded to the scene POV. On arrival, the crew assisted EMS with extricating a patient from the residence to their transport unit and then went available. |

| | Engine 22 and Rescue 23 dispatched class one to 25 Main Street in Lykens in front of the Mini Mart for a motorcycle versus pickup accident with no injury. Engine 22 responded with 6, and Chiefs 22-1 and 22-2 POV. On arrival, PSP was on scene with a motorcycle on the berm of the road and a pickup truck in the lot of the mini mart. Rescue 23 was placed in service. Crews cleaned up debris and secured the scene until released. |

Tower 22 responded with 5, Chief 22 POV to the scene, and 7 other members went to the scene. On arrival the crew started patient care and got initial vital signs until the arrival of Medic 6 who then took over patient care and released Company 22. |

| | Tower and Engine 22 dispatched class one to 986 Medical Road in Upper Paxton Township for a multi family structure fire. Tower 22 responded with 4 and Engine 22 with 3. On arrival at a one story 43 foot by 143 foot wood frame building the Tower was set up on the A/D corner and crew split to ladder the building and take the boom to the roof to vent. Engine 22 arrived and staged and sent manpower forward. Crews assisted with venting and extinguishment until released by Command 20. |
