2023
Structure Fire, 101 South Center St (Box 27-1)

Truck 22 dispatched class one on the 27-1 box to 101 south center street in Gratz Boro for a working commercial structure fire. Truck 22 responded with 7 and on arrival at a two story approx 100 by 200 foot wooden barn structure that was fully involved were instructed to go to the C side and set up master stream operations and be supplied by Engine 27. The crew also laddered the D side of the structure and flowed a hand line into the upper floor from that side. The crew in the bucket flowed both deck guns for an extended period of time while other crews were knocking down fire from the ground level. This continued for some time. Eventually salvage and overhaul began and the crew assisted until released by Command 27.
2021
Garage fire, 421 Elizabeth St rear (Box 24-1)

Company 24 and 22 dispatched class one to the rear of 421 Elizabeth Street in Williamstown on Hemlock Street for a garage fire. Chief 24 reported that he had a glow from station 24 and stated they had a working fire. Truck 22 responded with 4, Engine 22 with 6 and Utility 22 with 2. Tanker 24 responded and arrived on the scene with a working fire endangering several other garages. They deployed two hand lines and made a quick knockdown of an approximately 10 foot by 20 foot one story garage. Truck 22 arrived on scene and staged on Grant Street and sent their manpower forward. Engine 22 staged on Grant Street at Elizabeth Street at a hydrant and sent their manpower forward. Utility 22 staged behind Engine 22. Command marked control and the crew assisted 24 with overhaul and extinguishment of remaining areas of the garage with pockets of fire. Crews using a TIC checked the surrounding garages that had melted siding for hot spots and found none. Engine 22 re-positioned on Hemlock Street and using a 3 inch line fed their tank water to Tanker 24. After completing overhaul Command 24 released the Engine, Truck and Utility and they went available.
2021
Set up a Landing Zone, Station 23 (Box 22-1)

Company 22 dispatched class one to station 23 to establish a landing zone for life lion. A medical call had occurred at 310 Arch Street in the CJB parking lot that was dispatched to Company 23. Engine 22, 22-1 and Utility 22 responded with 6, 2 and 4 personnel. On arrival the crew assisted with landing Life Lion and were then later placed available by command.

AFA, 182 Engle Road (Box 21-5)

Company 21 and Truck 22 dispatched class one to 182 Engle Road in Washington Township at the Goodwill Store for an automatic fire alarm. Truck 22 responded with 7 and Utility 22 with 4. While enroute Command 21 on scene placed the company available because of a false trip.
2018
Swift Water Rescue, 200 Main Street (Box 22-1)

Company 22, Rescue 21 and Boat 20 dispatched class one to the Lykens Boro Park behind the Municipal Building at the old Lykens pool for a person trapped in swift water. Lieutenant 22 and Chief 27-2 were on scene with Lykens PD. Chief 22 and two additional members responded POV, Truck 22 went enroute with 4 and Utility 22 with 4. On arrival of the Chief he saw a child sitting on a rock not far from the side of the creek who was trapped by swiftly moving water. Chief 23-1 and Lieutenant 22-1 were outfitted with PFDs and attached to ropes and went into the water below the victim and swam up to him while other crew members extended a 16 foot roof ladder down the side wall of the old pool. The two rescuers were able to get the victim and put a PFD on him and then guided him to the ladder for extrication from the creek and into a waiting Medic 6 unit. Rescue 21 arrived just before the rescue was completed. Boat 20 was placed in service. After retrieving gear Command then placed the box available.

Company 22 was alerted by Dauphin County dispatch to the above address for a flooded basement. Company 22 members responded with pumps by POV to the address and pumped out the basement before moving on to the next location that needed assistance.

Automatic Fire Alarm, 9781 Route 209 (Box 24-2)

Company 24, Schuylkill Engine 659 and Truck 22 dispatched class one to the Twin Valley Alliance Church on Route 2009 for a automatic fire alarm. Tanker 24 responded to the call and held all other units in quarters. Truck 22 held in station with 5. Command on scene placed the box in service.
2012
Electrical Hazard, 512 Market Street (Box 22-1)
Detail >>
Company 22 dispatched class three to the alley along side 512 Market Street for a report of wires down. Engine 22 responded with 5, Utility 22 with 3, and Chiefs 22 and 22-2 POV. On arrival, the crew found a power line knocked down and laying in the Lykens Hotel parking lot as a result of strong storms coming through the area. The crew put fire line tape and barricades around the scene, command contacted dispatch to relay a pole number to PPL, and then placed the box in service.
2012
Electrical Fire, 6236 Route 209 (Box 21-6)

Company 21, Truck 22, Rescue 23 and EMS dispatched class one to 6236 Route 209 for a reported electrical fire in an apartment. Truck 22 responded with 7 and Rescue 23 with 8, and Engine, Tanker, and Rescue 21. Truck 22 arrived on scene side A and had a 2 1/2 story wood frame apartment building with normal conditions from the exterior. A crew went interior while the building was laddered. An electrical outlet in the front first floor right apartment was found to be charred and smoldering. Power had been cut to the apartment by the occupants prior to them leaving. Crews using the TIC checked for hot spots, checked and evacuated the upper floors, and checked for possible extension, finding none. Company 21 arrived on scene and Chief 21-1 assumed command. After checking the wall surrounding the outlet and finding nothing burned or charred, and isolating and disabling the power to the individual apartment affected, command released companies 23 and 22 as they waited for the property owner and an electrician to arrive on scene.
1991
Shed Fire, N. 2nd St & Arch St (Box 22-11)
Detail >>
Companies 22 and 23 were dispatched for a shed on fire, on Arch Street, along the railroad tracks, across form the Shirt Factory. Engine 22, Engine 23, and Squad 23 responded. Upon arrival, crews found a small 10' x 15' one-story building on fire. Crews forced open the garage door and advanced a line inside to extinguish the visible fire. Since there were no occupants or power to the shed, the PSP fire marshall was called. Crews remained on scene performing salvage and overhaul until released by command.
1985
Auto Alarm, Elementary School (Box 22-11)

Companies 22 & 23 were dispatched to the Lykens Elementary School for an automatic fire alarm. Engine 22 responded, with Chief 22 responding to the scene POV. He arrived on scene and was met by a maintenance worker who advised that he was painting the walls in the hallway, and had accidentally tripped the alarm system. Chief 22 placed Company 23 in service. Engine 22 arrived on scene, and the crew checked the building with the Chief and confirmed a false trip. The engine then went available.
