Accident with injury, Main and Market Street (Box 22-1)

Engine 22 and Rescue 23 dispatched class one to the square in Lykens at Main and Market Streets for a two vehicle accident with an injury. Chief 22 responded POV and arrived on scene to find two vehicles on Main Street in front of the Union House Apartments blocking traffic with both drivers out of their cars. Rescue 23 was placed in service. PSP and EMS were enroute and with personnel arriving on scene POV Engine 22 was also placed in service. Crew assisted with traffic control until arrival of EMS and PSP and then went available.

Kitchen fire, 569 North Second Street (Box 22-1)

The 22-1 structure box dispatched class one to 569 North Second Street in Lykens for a kitchen fire, sending companies 22, 23, 21, 24, and EMS. Chief 22 responded POV to the scene, and on his arrival confirmed that there was a stove fire now out. He held the box to Company 22. Engine 22 responded with 6, Truck 22 with 4 and two additional members POV. On arrival at a 2 story single family dwelling with ordinary construction, the crew started patient care on a smoke inhalation patient and ventilated the structure, checking for any possible extensions with the TIC and finding none. After venting the structure, command placed the box available.
2011
Burning odor inside, 519 South Second Street (Box 22-1)

As Truck 22 was clearing the scene of the previous call, they were alerted to another call at 519 South Second Street in Lykens for a report of an odor of something burning inside the structure. This dispatched Company 22, Engine & Rescue 23, Engine 24, Rescue 21, and Air Light 66-60, class one. The Truck and Chief 22 responded from 904 Main Street class one, and Engine 22 responded from the station with 3. Numerous other members arrived on the scene POV. On arrival of the Truck, a crew went interior and investigated. They found that the owners had installed new electric baseboard heat the day before, and the smell was coming from one of the new units on the second floor. After determining that there was no emergency, command placed the box in service.

Medical Assist, 904 Main Street (Box 22-2)

Company 22 dispatched class three to 904 Main Street in Lykens to assist EMS with lifting a patient. Chief 22 responded POV and Truck 22 with 4 class three. On arrival, the crew assisted EMS with packaging and removing the patient from the residence to the ambulance for transport.
