Liberty Hose Co. No. 2 - Incident Detail #2290

Truck 22 dispatched class one to Porter Township, Schuylkill County, to 300 Greenwood Road for a commercial structure fire. Porter Township companies 650, 655, 810, 647 and Tower City 66 dispatched on the first alarm. Dauphin County companies 23 and 24 added along with Schuylkill companies 58, 13, 67, and 14 added as well. Truck 22 responded with 7 and Utility 22 with 2. On arrival, The Truck set up on side A of a 2 story, 50 by 100 foot commercial building that was used by a construction company, with fire coming through the roof and the rest of the structure involved. Crews did an initial search interior on the first floor but evacuated when conditions worsened. The Truck crew placed the aerial in service and was supplied through a 5 inch line from Tower City Engine 66-10, and then worked the upper sections of the building on the B and D side, knocking down visible fire and venting the building. Tankers 24, 23, 810, 13 and 14 supplied Engine 66-10. Hand lines from Engines 647 and 650 were placed in service to knock down visible fire from the first floor level. Crews continued to assist with overhaul until released by Command 647. Engine 38 was relocated to station 23 and Company 21 was placed on standby by 647 during the event.
