Plane Crash

Early morning on July 25, 1947, two people were killed in a plane crash at the Gratz Airport. David Savage (29) of Fountain, and Mary Willier (29), of Hegins, set off for a midnight pleasure ride. They burned to death when their plane crashed shortly after take off. Their bodies were identified by Dr. S.E. Herrold, of Lykens, Dauphin County Deputy Coroner. |
