Two Vehicle Accident - Route 147

A vehicle accident occurred in Halifax Township on May 4, 2007. A 2004 Toyota Corolla was being driven north on North River Road (Route 147), following a farm tractor. A 1992 Toyota Previa, being driven at a high rate of speed, also traveling north, failed to slow down and rear-ended the Corolla. A 9-year-old girl, a passenger in the Corolla, was taken to Harrisburg Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The driver of the Previa was heavily intoxicated at the time of the accident and was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, and careless driving. |
