Company-22 was dispatched, emergency, for a Medical Assist at the scene of a pedestrian struck at the corner of Main and Division Streets. Engine-22 responded with six crew members (one, an EMT). Dauphin County advised of an elderly male with a leg injury.
Engine-22 went available on the scene and was positioned to provide lighting and traffic protection. An ambulance was already on scene, along with with numerous other EMS providers. The engine crew assisted EMS with patient care, immobilization, and lifting into the ambulance. Company-22 fire police provided traffic control by shutting down the 200 Block of Main Street. Engine-22 was released by Chief-22 and the box was placed in service.
Company 22 was dispatched for a medical assist to a patient with difficulty breathing at the Rattling Creek Apartments. Truck 22 responded with a crew of seven, and Chiefs 22-1 and 22-2 responded POV. On arrival, the truck crew went to the patient's apartment and found a female breathing normally, but suffering from a chemical burn to the shoulder. The crew initiated patient care and took a first set of vitals until the arrival of an EMS unit from Williamstown. The crew assisted EMS with moving the patient from her apartment to the transport unit and then went available.
At the request of Chief 22 on scene with Lykens PD, Engine 22 dispatched class three to the area of 512 Main Street in Lykens for a fuel spill. Engine 22 responded with 6 and Utility 22 with 4. On arrival, crews spread high dry on a spill that started on Arch Street in the Boro, and extended all the way down South 1st Street to Pine Street, and then Pine Street to the 500 block of Main Street where most of the product was located. Estimated amount of spill less than 5 gallons. After cleanup, Command placed the box available.
Company 22 dispatched class one to 306 Main Street in Lykens to assist EMS with a patient lift. Chief 22 responded POV and Truck 22 went enroute with 7. On arrival, the crew assisted Medic 6 with the transfer of a patient from their second floor bedroom to their transport unit, and then went available.
2019
Cardiac Arrest AED Response, 643 Main Street (Box 22-1)
Company 22 dispatched class one to 643 Main Street in Lykens for a cardiac arrest AED response. Chief 22 responded POV to the scene a couple doors down from his home. Three other company members in the area arrived to assist and CPR was begun. Utility 22 responded with 3 and Engine 22 with 5. On arrival the crews went to work setting up and using the AED and additional medical equipment. EMS arrived and took command of the incident. The crew continued to assist until released by EMS and the box was placed available.
At the request of the County Coroner Company 22 dispatched class three to 643 Main Street in Lykens at the scene of the previous call to assist with manpower. Engine 22 responded with 5 and 7 members went to the scene POV. On arrival the Engine staged on side C in the alley and sent manpower up to assist the rest of the crew. After completing the task Command placed the Company available.

Equipment fire inside barn, 318 Sheetz Rd (Box 19-3)
Company 19, Engine and Tanker 29 and Truck 22 dispatched class one to 318 Sheetz Road in Wayne Township for farm machinery on fire inside a barn. Truck 22 responded with 3 and was canceled by Chief 29 while enroute, fire was out.
Company 22 dispatched class three to 237 Greenfield Estates in Elizabethville for a lift assist. Utility 22 went enroute with 2 and one member went POV. On arrival the crew assisted EMS from Company 20 and 21 fire with moving a large patient from their residence to the ambulance. Upon completing the task Command placed the box available.
A boiler in the rolling-mill of Coates Brothers at Locust Point, in Baltimore, Maryland, exploded on January 5, 1880. The mill was much wrecked and several of the employees were seriously injured. The boiler was elevated some 8 or 10 feet from the floor of the mill, and its fragments passed out through the north and west sides and end of the building. The day shift had just left the building, and the night force had gone to work. George Wirt, Joseph Vickers, and Charles Thomas were seriously hurt and scalded, but none of them were fatally injured. Joseph Morgau, John Geisler, Jolin Williams, Zaebariah Jackson, Joseph Kenny, William Walton, George Rice, Charles Disney, and a boy - all employees in the mill - were scalded and some of them received injuries from flying splinters. The dome of the boiler was thrown 150 yards. The rears of several small dwelling-houses immediately west of the mill were damaged. The damage from the explosion and a fire which followed reach $6.000. The mill was running to its full capacity at the time.
Tom Yawkey, who bought the Boston Red Sox in 1933, began a major overhaul of Fenway Park. That project came to a halt on January 5, 1934, when a fire burned in the building for five hours. Few areas of the ballpark were left undamaged. Construction crews worked to get the park open in time for the April 15, 1934, season opener. When it opened, Fenway Park had a new look. Concrete bleachers replaced the wooden ones, the wooden left field wall was replaced by a sheet metal wall, and "Duffy's Cliff" was leveled off. (Duffy's Cliff was a 10-foot bank near the left field wall from which fans were allowed to watch the game. The Sox's Duffy Lewis became so skilled at playing balls that were hit to that area, it became known as Duffy's Cliff.) This was the second time Fenway Park burned. The first time was on May 8, 1926.
