Structure Fire, 512 Hemlock Road (Box 19-1)

Tanker 22 was dispatched to Crum's farm in Jefferson Township for a structure fire. The tanker was canceled before response.
2009
Garage Fire, 108 W. Wiconisco Street (Box S.C.)
Detail >>
Truck 22 dispatched on the first alarm to Porter Township, village of Muir, for a garage fire behind the Muir fire station on Wiconisco Street. Schuylkill Companies 650, 655, 659, 647, 810, 66, and Dauphin 24 also dispatched. Truck 22 responded with 7 and Chief 22-2 POV. On arrival, crew found a 1 story concrete block garage with a tin roof well off and the other companies working the scene. Crew went to the roof and vented, set up PPV, and assisted with suppression and overhaul until released by command.
2012
Structure Fire, 115 West Market Street (Box 27-1)

Companies 27, 26, 28, Truck 22, Northumberland 65 and Medic 6 dispatched class one to 115 West Market Street in Gratz for a reported structure fire. Chief 27 arrived on scene and reported a working fire to the rear of the structure in a garage area. Truck 22 responded with 7 and Utility 22 with 3. On arrival, the Truck set up on side A and pulled every ladder and set them around the structure, while a crew went to the roof of the 1 story addition to the rear and vented. Heavy fire was coming from the roof and spreading to the main building but crews were able to contain it to the addition on side C. Crews assisted on scene with suppression followed by salvage and overhaul until released by command.

Structure Fire, 5255 Route 25 (Box 27-4)

Truck 22 dispatched class one on the 27-4 box for a report of a possible structure fire in Lykens Township at 5255 Route 25. Companies 27, 26, 28, and 23 also on the box. Truck 22 responded with 3, and was placed in service while enroute when command reported it to be a controlled burn.
2015
Medical Assist, 438 South Second Street (Box 22-1)

Company 22 dispatched class three to 438 South Second Street in Lykens to assist EMS with lifting. Chiefs 22 and 22-1 responded POV to the scene, and Truck 22 went enroute with 5. On arrival, the crew assisted EMS from 24 with removing a patient from the residence to their transport unit, and then went available.
2015
Medical Assist - Cardiac Arrest, 415 Market Street (Box 22-1)

Company 22 dispatched class one to assist EMS with a cardiac arrest at 415 Market Street in Lykens. Chief 22 responded POV, Truck 22 with 7 and Engine 22 with 5. On the arrival of the Chief, he found the patient breathing on his own. Personnel assisted EMS with treatment and transfer to their unit, and were then placed available.
2015
AFA, 110 Reiff Street (Box 22-1)

Company 22 and Engine 23 dispatched class one to the Reiff and Nestor Plant at 110 Reiff street for an automatic fire alarm, water flow. The Boro water authority was flushing hydrants this evening. Chief 22 responded POV, Engine 22 with 5 and Truck 22 with 4. On the arrival of the Chief, he found normal conditions and met with plant personnel. Engine 23 was placed in service. After attempting a re set of the system, it would not re set. Command placed the box available and advised to place the alarm system OOS until repairs could be made.
2017
AFA, 600 Main Street (Box 22-1)

Company 22 and Engine 23 dispatched class one to the Lykens Hotel at 600 Main Street in Lykens. Chief 22-2 responded to the scene and on arrival had a 4 story 50 foot by 75 foot occupied hotel with normal conditions and the building not evacuated. After meeting with maintenance it was determined to be a false trip and the box was placed available before any rigs responded.

1934
Accident - Buggy vs Car - Wiconisco Twp, Dauphin Co, PA

On Friday Morning, October 19, 1934, Mike Gunderman, well known local farmer and huckster, was involved in an accident. Gunderman's horse and buggy were struck by a car operated by James Shomper of Wiconisco as they rounded the turn at the Bowman farm. The front wheel was torn from the wagon, and the farmer was badly scratched and cut in the fall. The horse was not injured. Dr. Ira Keiter of Wiconisco rendered first aid.
