Company 22 was dispatched to the 400-block of Pine Street. County 911 received one phone call reporting a loud explosion somewhere in that area. Engine and Truck 22 responded to the area. After searching the block, with nothing found, they went available.
2009
Traffic control, Main Street and Lehr Street (Box 24-3)

Companies 24 and 23 were attending to a head on crash on Route 209 near Koppy's Propane in Williams Township. The accident had the roadway blocked to all traffic, so Command 24 requested Company 22 fire police to shut down Route 209 at the Lykens Borough line. Chief 22-1 and one firefighter responded to the intersection of Main and Lehr Streets and blocked traffic until released by Command 24.
2011
Car Fire, 213 North Street (Box 22-1)

Company 22 dispatched class one to 213 North Street in Lykens for a reported car fire. Engine 22 responded with 6, Truck 22 with 6, and Chief 22 POV. On arrival, the car was giving off light smoke from the front wheel wells. It was determined that the brakes had locked up and overheated, producing some smoke. Finding no fire or need for our services, command placed the box available.
2012
Wires burning, 260 Glen Park Road (Box 22-2)

Company 22 dispatched class one to the Glen Road by the second bridge for a report of a tree on wires, with the wires burning. Engine 22 responded with 4, Utility 22 with 3, and Chief 22 POV. On arrival, a large tree was found laying across a 12,000 volt line, burning and smoking. Chief 22 called in the pole number and the company awaited the arrival of PP&L. Approximately 15 minutes later, the lines burned through, arced, and fell, dropping power to portions of town. After the arrival of PP&L, the crews went available.
2012
Public Service Call, 801 Market Street (Box 22-2)

At the request of EMS, Utility 22 dispatched class three to 801 Market Street in Lykens for a public assist. With power out in parts of town (see call number 36) the resident of 801 Market Street in Lykens called for some assistance. The utility responded with 2 class three to the residence and set up a generator for the occupant. After power was restored to the area, the generator was retrieved and the Utility went available.
2017
Tree Down, Powells Valley Road (Box 216-8)

At the request of Chief 22 on scene, Utility 22 dispatched class three to Powells Valley Road near the top of the Lykens mountain in the 216-8 box for a tree down across the roadway. Utility 22 responded with 4 and Lieutenant 22 POV. On arrival, the crew used a chainsaw to cut up and remove the tree from the roadway. Command then placed the box available.
2021
AFA, 1619 Pottsville Street (Box 23-3)

Engine 23 and Truck 22 dispatched class one to 1619 Pottsville Street in Wiconisco Township for an automatic fire alarm. Chief 23 went enroute POV and Truck 22 went with 7 and Engine 23 with 3. On the Trucks arrival side A they were assigned ventilation and the PPV fan was pulled and set up to vent. After completing the task command placed the box available.
