Fire, Otto Long's House

Fire alarm sounded at 4:15PM on Tuesday, July 23, 1901. The hose cart was run to the scene of the fire which was at the house of Otto Long on North Street. Arriving on the scene, the company found that the front roof was on fire. Connections were made, but no water was used. The fire was was extinguished before doing much damage. Damage was estimated at $10. From the fact that there was no fire in the house, the cook stove being in a back kitchen, the fire's origin was attributed to a spark from a neighboring factory stack.

Company 22 was dispatched for a reported tree down. Engine 22 responded, and when on scene used chain saws to cut up and clear a tree that was down.

Medical Assist, Greenland Rd (Box 216-8)
Detail >>
Engine 22 was dispatched to assist EMS with a cardiac arrest call on the Greenland Road in Jefferson Township. Engine 22 responded, along with Engine 19. The patient was located somewhere back in the game lands. Lieutenant 22 took the AED and responded POV about five minutes ahead of Engine 22. Engine 22 arrived and staged at an upper access road off of Powells Valley Road, and Engine 19 staged at the Greenland Road. Chief 19-1 placed Engine 22 in service when they made contact with the patient and called a signal 12.

Cardiac Arrest - AED, 517 South Street (Box 22-1)

Company 22 dispatched class one to the Family Practice Center at 517 South Street in Lykens for a cardiac arrest AED call. Utility 22 responded with 5 and arrived on scene in seconds. Crews assisted EMS and FPC staff with CPR until released by EMS.
