At the request of Medic 6 Company 22 dispatched class three to the Israel Building Apartments at 601 Main Street in Lykens to assist with entry into an apartment. Chiefs 22 and 22-2 responded POV and Engine 22 went enroute with 4. On arrival the crew used the Knox box to gain entry to the patient for EMS and then went available.
2016
Med Assist - Cardiac Arrest, 405 North Second Street (Box 22-1)
Company 22 dispatched class one to 405 South Second Street in Lykens to assist EMS with a cardiac arrest. Truck 22 responded with 7, Utility 22 with 4, and Chief 22 POV. On arrival, the crews assisted EMS with patient care until transferring the patient to their transport unit. They were then placed available by Chief 22.
Company 22 placed on standby in quarters while companies 19, 21, 23, 24, Schuylkill 647, 66, 650, 659, 655, and 810 were working a mountain fire in Rush Township near the DeHart Dam. Station 22 went on standby with a crew of 4 and remained there until released by Chief 24.

Med Assist - Cardiac Arrest, 215 North Street (Box 22-1)
Company 22 dispatched class one to assist EMS with a cardiac arrest call at 215 North Street in Lykens. Truck 22 responded with 5 and Chief 22 POV, and on arrival, EMS called a signal 12. The crew remained on scene to assist the coroner until released by Chief 22.
2015
Medical Assist - Cardiac Arrest, 672 Main Street (Box 22-1)
Company 22 dispatched class one to 672 Main Street in Lykens for a cardiac arrest. Chief 22 responded POV from his home across the street. Engine 22 responded with 5, and the out of service Truck 22, on its way to a repair shop, turned around and responded with 2. Numerous company members responded to the scene. On arrival, the crew assisted Medical 6 with patient care until released by them. Chief 22 placed the company available.
Engine 22 and Engine 24, which was called in place of Engine 23, which was out of service for routine maintenance, were dispatched for a report of a gas leak outside a structure at 459 Main Street. Engine 23 had just returned from its maintenance and was put back in service and responded to the call, placing Engine 24 available. Engine 22 responded with a crew of six, and Chief 22 responded POV. The Chief arrived on the scene to find a 250 pound propane cylinder leaking from a broken copper line in the backyard of the residence. Engine 22 arrived on side-A, followed by Engine and Rescue 23. A crew from the Engine applied a sealant to the end of the broken copper line and closed the tank's valve. Command released company 23 and contacted County to have a representative from Koppy's Propane sent to the scene to handle the gas cylinder leak. After the arrival of the service person, command placed company 22 in service.
Company-22 was dispatched to 656 North Street for a reported CO alarm. Engine-22 responded with a crew of six and Truck-22 responded with a crew of seven. Upon arrival, chief 22-1 advised that all occupants were out of the structure and a CO alarm was sounding on the first floor. The engine crew took a CO Monitor to the first floor, and when they opened the inside cellar entrance, got very high readings. The crew closed the door and exited the structure. The cellar windows and the outside cellar door were opened up, and PPV was set up at the top of the stairs. The engine crew went into the basement, and the truck crew went to the roof to examine the chimney. The engine crew shut off the the coal burner, and pulled the furnace pipe from the wall and plugged it. The truck crew ran chimney chains, and a bucket full of debris was removed from the chimney. Examination of the furnace and pipes showed that the furnace was also full of debris. The occupant of the structure was advised to contact a furnace repair company before attempting to re-use the furnace. With debris cleaned out and new CO readings taken in the basement, first, and second floors showing 0ppm, the occupant was advised to leave the windows open on all floors for the afternoon, and company went available.
Tanker-22 was dispatched in place of Tanker-19 to Jackson Township, on the Mountain House Road, for a possible structure fire at the Swab Camp. Engine-19 on scene reported that fire was contained to the chimney. Tanker-22 responded with a crew of two and was canceled on the ramp of the station.
Companies 22 and 23 were dispatched to the Don's Food Rite Store for a propane fire. Located in the alley adjacent to the main entrance to the store was a food trailer that sold french fries and other foods. These foods were prepared using propane fed stoves and deep fryers. A leak developed in the trailer and started a fire in the rear area near the roof. Engine-22, Engine-23, and Squad-23 responded. Upon arrival, there was fire found to the rear of the trailer. Dual 3-inch supply lines were laid for Engine-22 from the hydrant at Market and Arch Streets, approximately 1200 feet. Engine-23 was supplied from a hydrant at Main and Spruce streets. Crews advanced lines to the trailer and extinguished the fire, with no extension to the store located only five feet away. After overhaul was completed, the crews went available.
Fire broke out in the coal house of Lewis Smeltzer. Liberty Hose Company No. 2 was the first fire company there and extinguished the blaze. Rescue Hose Company did not make attachment. There was not much damage.
