On Sunday July 29, 1928, while travelling from Elizabethville to Lykens, a tire on the motorcycle of Charles Cooper blew out and caused the cycle to swerve and upset. Cooper, who was driving, was unhurt. Harry Weaver, a passenger on the motorcycle, was thrown off and broke his left arm.
On Sunday afternoon, July 29, 1934, a Harrisburg man and woman were injured when their auto turned over in a ditch along the highway between Lykens and Wiconisco. The accident occurred when the driver of the car swerved into the ditch to avoid collision with another auto. Beatrice Hartman was pinned under the car and suffered a possible fracture of the neck and a puncture wound of the right leg. Passing motorists removed her from the wreckage. William Hilden suffered a fractured collar bone. Both received treatment at the Harrisburg Hospital.
On Monday morning, July 29, 1940, an oil stove that exploded in the home of Reginald Rowe on North Second Street, in Lykens, Pennsylvania, caused fire damage estimated at $50.
