| | Company 22 was dispatched to a report of a structure fire with entrapment. Also dispatched were companies 23 and 24. Chief 22-1 arrived on the scene and reported heavy fire showing with someone trapped on the second floor. Two other occupants of the structure had escaped by breaking out a second floor window, running across a snow-covered roof above a one story addition, and jumping from the roof to the ground below. Both patients were transported to the hospital with cuts and burns. Engine 22 responded with a crew of six and arrived on side 1 with electric power lines burning off and dropping to the front of the structure. Engine 23 arrived and set up in the alley to the rear of the structure. Truck 22 came in from the Spruce Street side and staged on the upper side of side 1. Their manpower laddered the structure and went to the roof to vent. Numerous entry attempts were made by Company 22 crews in the front and Company 23 crews in the rear, but they were driven back by intense fire. Engine 24 arrived and staged at the corner of Spruce and South Streets, sending their manpower to the scene to assist. Company 66 was dispatched to relocate to Station 22. After many failed attempts to gain entry to the structure, attack mode was switched to defensive, and lines were used from the exterior until the bulk of the fire was knocked down. After knockdown and during overhaul, one victim was located in a second floor bedroom near the rear window. Janet White, age 38, perished as a result of the fire. Firefighters from Company 22 recovered her body and turned it over to the County Coroner. Extensive overhaul was performed until all hot spots were located and extinguished. Company 66 assisted with repacking all 1400 feet of 5 inch supply line that was pulled and laid from the hydrant at the first bridge to the front of the structure. Companies were placed available by Chief 22.
Around 19:00 that same evening, Engine 22 returned to the scene of this fire with a full crew to assist the family in retrieving some personal items from the home, which was too damaged to allow them safe entry on their own. |

| | Engine 22 and Squad 23 were dispatched for an accident with injuries at 326 Main Street. Chief 22 responded POV and found a pickup truck that had struck a parked car and came to rest against a structure. There was one patient. Command canceled Squad 23 and had Engine 22 come in non-emergency. The crew assisted EMS with the patient and cleaned up the scene before being released by command. |

| | Truck 22 was dispatched to assist Company 19 on a structure fire in a hunting camp in Jefferson Township. The truck responded with a crew of five, and on arrival, staged behind Engine 29. Crews found a fully involved one-story concrete block bungalow-type structure with fire throughout the interior. The truck crew assisted with suppression, salvage, and overhaul. |

| | Company-22 was first called to assist at the scene of a rescue of a fallen hunter in Clarks Valley. While responding with a crew of six, County advised the Company to remain in quarters and standby for Companies 23, 24, and 66 who had all their available personnel working on the scene of the rescue. After the rescue was completed, the Company was placed available. |

| | Truck 22 dispatched class three to 645 South Street in Lykens to assist EMS with a fall victim on a roof. Chief 22 responded POV to the scene, and Truck 22 responded with 6. On arrival, crew found a patient on a second floor roof with EMS not yet on scene. Crew laddered the building and made patient contact and initiated care. EMS from 24 arrived and assisted with packaging and removing the patient from the roof. Patient was placed in a stokes basket and lowered to the ground using the boom, and then transferred to the ambulance which took the patient to the LZ at Station 23 for transfer to Life Lion and eventually to Hershey. After the patient was transferred and all equipment was returned to service, command placed the Truck available. |

County advised that a second call from the facility reported the alarm as false with a proper pass code. Command placed the box in service before any response.
