Structure Fire, 132 West Broad Street (Box 24-1) |
Detail >> |
|
| | Truck 22 dispatched class one on the 24-1 box at 132 West Broad Street in Williamstown for a structure fire. Initial box called for companies 24, 23, Schuylkill Engines 22-11 and 22-15 along with Rescue 22-55. Truck 22 responded with 4. Engine 22 added on with 5 and Utility 22 with 1. EMS was reporting right after dispatch that they could see a column from Route 209. The Truck arrived and set up on the A/D corner and went to the roof to ventilate. Engine 22 approached on West Street and took a hydrant at Spruce and West and laid 5 inch up to the corner of West and Broad Streets. They pulled two hand lines that went to the C side of the structure and 5 inch was laid into the Truck and charged. Additional resources were requested when the first alarm was struck along with special calls. The single family wood frame 3 story structure was fully involved on arrival with oxygen cylinders exploding out the A side of the building. Multiple crews advanced hand lines on all floors and worked on suppression which was difficult because of the high wind conditions at the time. Crews continued in their suppression efforts for an extended period of time until control of the building was achieved. Crews began overhaul and assisting on scene until released by Command.
