Barn Fire, Rt. 25 and Cedar Lane (Box 27-2)

Truck 22 was dispatched to assist Companies 27 and 26 on a report of a possible barn fire in the area of Route 25 and Cedar Lane. Chief 27 responded POV, and held all companies in quarters. Upon his arrival on scene, he placed the box in service.

Wires Down, Machamer Avenue (Box 23-5)

Engines 23 and 22 were dispatched to Machamer Avenue in Wiconisco Township in the area of the Snyder residence for a tree limb that fell on the roadway and took down some power lines. Heavy rains and sleet were coming down in the area at the time. Engine 22 responded with a crew of five, followed by Engine 23 responding. Chief 22-1 on the scene advised Engine 23 that the incident could be handled by one engine, and Company 23 placed Engine 22 in service.

Flooding, 300 Main Street (Box 22-1)

Company 22 dispatched class three to 300 Main Street in Lykens for a flooded basement. Chief 22 went enroute POV and Utility 22 responded with 4. On arrival at a 2 1/2 story multi family dwelling, the Chief found several inches of water in the basement. Utility 22 arrived on scene side D, and the crew set up a submersible pump and removed the water from the basement. When the task was completed, command placed the box available.

Brush fire, Berry Mountain Road (Box 216-8)

Company 22, Brush and Tanker 23 dispatched class one to the 216-8 box for a report of a brush fire on Berry Mountain. Caller advised they could see it from the parking lot at Boyers in Lykens. Engine 22 responded with 4, Utility 22 with 4, and 4 additional members POV. Chief 23 called on the air and advised of a controlled burn on Coaldale Road that was visible from the callers location and was the likely location. Command 22 placed the box in service.

Accident with injury, 620 West Market St (Box 24-3)

Engine 22 dispatched class one to 620 West Market Street in Williams Township for a one vehicle accident with injury. Engine 22 responded with 5 and was canceled by EMS while enroute.

Appliance Fire, 512 Market Street (Box 22-1)

Engine and Truck 22 dispatched class one to 512 Market Street in Lykens for an appliance fire. Chiefs 22 and 22-2 responded POV to the scene and Engine 22 went enroute with 3. On arrival at a 3 story 20 by 50 foot wood frame multi family apartment building one of the residents of the basement apartment was outside advising that the living room baseboard heating unit had caught fire and he had dumped water on it. Investigation confirmed his statement and power to the baseboard was shut off and the TIC was used to check for any hot spots with none found. Resident contacted building maintenance and the box was placed available.

Medical Assist, 570 North Second St (Box 22-1)

At the request of Medic 6 on scene Company 22 dispatched class three to 570 North Second Street in Lykens to assist with patient extrication from a second floor apartment. Truck 22 responded with 7 and one additional member POV to the scene. On arrival the crew assisted EMS with patient removal. After completing the task the Company was placed available.

Structure Fire, 1346 Tourist Park Road (Box 216-1)

Truck 22 dispatched class one on the 216-1 box to 1346 Tourist Park Road in Jackson Township for a structure fire. Companies 216, 29, 21, 20, 19, 26, 27, 23, Perry 2 also on the call. Truck 22 responded with 7 and Utility 22 added on with 5. On arrival of the Truck to a 28 foot by 54 foot 2 story wood frame single family dwelling they were assigned to ladder the building and ventilate. The Utility went to the tanker fill site at Noblits farm to assist Rescue 21 with setting up for tanker fills. Crews continued with suppression activities and filling tankers until released by command.
