Medical Assist, 15 South Second Street (Box 22-1)

Company 22 dispatched class three by Medic 6 to assist with lifting a patient at the Rattling Creek Apartments at 15 South Second Street in Lykens. Utility 22 responded with 5 and 2 additional members POV. On arrival the crew assisted with lifting a patient back into their wheelchair and were then placed available.

Structure Fire, 125 Sunset Drive (Box 21-8)

Truck and Engine 22 dispatched on the 21-8 box to 125 Sunset Drive in Washington Township for a structure fire in a mobile home. Truck 22 responded with 4 and Engine 22 with 3. Companies 21, 23, and 27 also on the box. DO 21 arrived on scene and found the homeowner had extinguished the bulk of the fire with the gray line and held it to Engine 21 and Truck 22. Fire was in a mulch bed on the A/D side of the home and spread to the siding. The Truck crew ran the TIC around the affected area with no hot spots noted while other members pulled off some melted siding. Command then placed the box available.
2018
Structure Fire, 501 Greenfield Street (Box 24-2)

Truck 22 dispatched class one on the 24-2 box for a garage fire at 501 Greenfield Street in Williams Township. Initial dispatch was for a brush fire but first unit on scene reported it to have spread to a garage and multiple out buildings and the box was upgraded. Truck 22 responded with 6 and Engine 22 with 5. Later into the call, Chief 22 responded with Utility 22. On arrival of the Truck, they staged and went to the roof to ventilate. On the arrival of the Engine they set up in front of Tanker 24 and gave their water to the Tanker to supply multiple hand lines in operation until a positive water supply was set up from a hydrant. Crews continued with suppression and ventilation activities until control was achieved. After performing salvage and overhaul the company was released by command 24.

Structure Fire, 2276 Shippen Dam Road (Box 20-2)

The 20-2 structure box dispatched class one to 2276 Shippen Dam Road in Upper Paxton Township for a reported structure fire. The address was later updated to 530 Deibler Road. Companies 20, 21, 26, 28, 29 and Truck 22 for the out of service Truck 20 dispatched. Chief 20 arrived on scene with a fully involved 2 1/2 story brick single family dwelling back a long dirt lane. Truck 22 responded with 7, and on arrival was directed to stage the rig out on the side of the lane and send manpower forward to Engine 20. The crew worked on extinguishment and some overhaul until released by Command 20.

Automatic Fire Alarm, 300 Chestnut Street (Box 22-1)

Company 22 and Engine 23 dispatched class one to 300 Chestnut Street in Lykens to the Alfa Laval Thermal Plant for an automatic fire alarm. Lieutenant 22 responded POV to the scene, Engine 22 went enroute with 5 and Truck 22 with 5. On his arrival on scene, Lieutenant 22 found normal conditions. Engine 23 responded with 4 and stood by the hydrant at Arch and North Second Streets. The engine arrived on side A and the Truck took side B. Two ALT company maintenance crew members on scene reported normal conditions with no idea why the alarm system activated. The crew did an interior and exterior search of the building and found normal conditions. ADT alarm system was contacted and the alarm system was placed OOS until they could inspect it. Command then placed the box available.

Smoke in a Structure, 2082 Route 209 (Box 20-4)

Truck 22 dispatched class one as next due Truck on the 20-4 box in Upper Paxton Township at 2082 Route 209 for a report of smoke in a structure. Chief 20 on scene reporting burnt food on the stove. As Truck 22 went responding with 7, Command held the box to Engine 20, putting Truck 22 in service.

A defective chimney caused a slight fire at the Spruce Street home of Phillip Klinger. The timely discovery of the blaze and the arrival of local firemen averted serious results. The damage was slight.
