| | Engine 22 dispatched class one to 600 Main Street in Lykens at the Union House Apartments for a small outside fire. The cigarette butt container outside the building was smoking. Chief 22 responded POV along with 2 other officers. On arrival they used a container of water to put out the fire. Chief 22 then placed the box available. |

| | Company 22 dispatched class three to the area of the 600 block of North Street in Lykens for an outside odor of electrical burning. Engine 22 responded with 4 and Truck 22 with 3. On arrival, the building at 606 North Street was checked with a TIC and nothing found. Other neighbors in the area did not smell anything. There was a controlled burn in Wiconisco Township at the same time and the wind was blowing some of the smoke towards Lykens. With nothing found command placed the box in service. |

| | At the request of Chief 22 on scene Company 22 dispatched class one to the square in Lykens at Main and Market Streets for a two vehicle accident with no injuries. Engine 22 responded with 3, Utility 22 with 2, and 7 members responded POV to the scene. PSP was on scene. On arrival, the crew secured both vehicles and directed traffic around the incident until the arrival of a tow truck to take the vehicles away. After sweeping up command placed the box available. |

| | Companies 23, 24, 21 and 22 dispatched to a simulated aircraft down in the Kramer airfield at 908 Pottsville Street in Wiconisco Township. Engine 22 responded with 4 and on arrival staged the rig behind Tanker 23 and sent manpower forward to assist with triage of 4 patients on board a Chinook helicopter that had gone down in the field as part of a drill. The crews responsibility was to remove the patients on board while other teams checked for hazards and secured various systems on board the aircraft. After removal of all patients a critique was held by the military staff on scene. Command then placed the box in service. |

| | Company 22 dispatched class three to the area in front of 422 South Second Street in Lykens for a cat stuck in a storm pipe. Chief 22 responded to the scene POV, and Engine 22 responded with 4. On arrival, the crew removed the rain pipe down spout and used a pike pole to nudge the kitty out of the pipe under the sidewalk. After extrication was marked, the company was placed available by command. |

| | At the request of Chief 23, Engine 22 dispatched to respond to Station 23 to assist in setting up a landing zone for two incoming helicopters. Companies 23, 66, and 24 all ready dispatched to Railroad Street and Route 209 in Williamstown for a two vehicle head on crash with 4 injuries and multiple entrapment. EMS requested two patients to be flown, and Life Lion from Hershey and Life Flight from Danville were dispatched. Engine 22 responded class one with 6, and Chief 22 went to the LZ by POV. On arrival, Engine 22 set up the second LZ at the L & W ballfield while Engine 23 had the first LZ set up in the Station 23 parking lot. Chief 23 was LZ officer. Crew assisted with the transfer of the second patient from Medic 6 transport unit to the Life Flight helicopter, and then went available. |

| | Truck 22 was dispatched to assist Medic 6 and Ambulance Company 24 with extrication of a patient from a second floor bedroom. The truck responded with a crew of five and arrived at the scene on side 1 of the residence. After re-positioning twice in an attempt to use the boom to access a second floor window, wires prevented access and the crew laddered the front porch roof and rigged a stokes basket from the bedroom window to street level. The patient was removed from the home and transferred to a waiting ambulance for transport. |

| | Engine 22 and Squad 23 were dispatched to a report of a bicyclist struck and pinned under a vehicle in the area of 518 North Second Street. Engine 22 responded and upon arrival, found that the patient had been removed from under the vehicle. Squad 23 was placed available, and the engine crew assisted EMS until they were released. |

| | The Fisher and Jones Hosiery Mill whistle sounded the alarm of fire on Tuesday, July 21, 1903, at 3:15PM. The fire was across the Wiconisco Creek in the double block house owned by the John Rowe estate and occupied by William Foster. Liberty Hose Company No. 2 responded. There were no fire plugs on that side of the creek, and it took some time to connect to the nearest plug on North Street and carry the hose through the water and across the creek. The fire had started in the attic, along the chimney. This gave opportunity for the removal of all the furniture from the house before the fire reached the second floor. The roof and attic were destroyed by the fire and the first and second floors were damaged by water. Mr. Foster was working in the mines and his wife was in Harrisburg at the time of the fire, the house being left in charge of by a daughter. The property was insured for $1,000. Mr. Foster was kindly tendered and accepted a residence in one of the houses of H. F. Bueck at Wiconisco. |
