Tanker-22 was dispatched to assist at a structure fire at the Red Rose Motel in Halifax Township. The tanker responded with two personnel, arrived on scene, and staged. The tanker was released by command without dropping any water. The fire started in Unit 10 in the bed, and was caused by a person smoking. Arriving companies found the place fully involved. It was a total loss. Two civilians were transported to Harrisburg Hospital for smoke inhalation. They were treated and released. Very icy conditions were present and PennDot was special called to take care of this. The fire was under control at 11:38AM. Damage was estimated at one million dollars. Numerous hand lines and tower streams were used. Units responding were: Chief 29, Truck 20, MICU 6-5, Ambulance 20-1, Engine 29, Engine 26, Tanker 21, Engine 21, Perry Engine 21, Tanker 20, Engine 38, Squad 29, Engine 20, Engine 216, Perry Tanker 92, Perry Tanker 22, Engine 37-1, Engine 37, Ladder 32, Tanker 29, MICU 6-3, Tanker 22, Ambulance 20-2, Tanker 26, Squad 26,Rescue 21, PennDot, Red Cross, and the Fire Marshall. It was a second alarm fire. Companies were on the scene for three hours.

Automatic Fire Alarm, 1517 Rt 209 - Pro Plastics (Box 20-1)

Truck 22 was dispatched as next due for Truck 20 on an automatic fire alarm at the Pro Plastics Plant Building #1 at 1517 Route 209 in Upper Paxton Township. Truck 22 went responding with a crew of seven, but was canceled moments later when Truck 20 went responding.

Medical Assist, 245 South Second Street (Box 22-1)

Company 22 dispatched to 245 South Second Street in Lykens to assist EMS on a reported cardiac arrest call. Truck 22 responded with 5 and the 3 chiefs responded POV. On arrival, crew was advised by EMS that there was no medical emergency at the dispatched address, and the Truck went available.

Brush fire, Rear of 559 North 2nd Street (Box 22-1)

Company 22 and Brush 23 dispatched to the area near the rear of the old Lykens School in the 500 block of North Second Street in Lykens Boro for a reported brush fire. Chief 22 and 22-1 responded POV to the scene, and as Engine 22 was responding with 6, Chief 22-1 placed the box in service. Someone was burning wood in a fire pit and a neighbor saw the smoke and flames and reported it.

Smoke in a Structure, 211 North Tunnel Street (Box 24-1)

Companies 24, 23, 22 and Schuylkill 647 dispatched class one to 211 North Tunnel Street in Williamstown for smoke in a structure. The caller reported smoke in the basement. Truck 22 responded with 7, and on arrival side A set up and prepared to ladder the building, a 2 and 1/2 story single family dwelling, while crews from Tanker 24 went interior to check the basement. Investigation found problems with the furnace pipes in the basement and 24's crew checked the rest of the building and found nothing. Command held the box to company 24 and released the truck.

AFA, 413 West Broad St (Box 24-1)

Company 24, Truck 22 and Engine 23 dispatched class one to 413 West Broad street in Williamstown for an automatic fire alarm. Tanker 24 went enroute with 5 and was advised of a false trip. They held the box to Tanker 24 non emergency and canceled 22 and 23 before response.

A working residential structure fire occurred in a two-story home in Hegins, Pennsylvania, around 1 o'clock in the morning of February 5, 2007. Fire companies arrived at the home and found smoke and flames showing. It was very cold night for the firefighters, with temperatures below 0?F.
