Companies 23, 22, 24, and 21 dispatched to 1572 Pottsville Street in Coaldale, Wiconisco Township, for a reported fire in the walls. Chief 23 arrived on scene and reported a smoke condition and working fire. Truck 22 responded with 7, Engine 22 with 6, and Tanker 22 with 2. Truck and Tanker 22 approached the scene from the west, and Engine 22 entered the scene from the east. The Truck took side A behind Engine 23, with the Engine on side 4 and the Tanker staged behind the Truck. On arrival, the structure was showing greenish brown smoke from the second floor windows on the west side around the chimney. Engine 23's crew stretched a line inside to the second floor, and the Truck 22 crew laddered the building and began venting side 2 of the structure. Engine 23's crew achieved a quick knockdown, and crews from 23, 22, and 24 performed overhaul both inside and outside the structure, finding many hidden pockets of fire behind the chimney. Crews performed salvage and overhaul until released by Chief 23.
At the request of Tower City EMS and Medic 6, Truck 22 dispatched to Schuylkill County, 1734 East Grand Avenue in Reinerton, to assist Schuylkill Engines 659 (Reinerton) and 650 (Muir) with extrication of a large patient from a second floor of his residence. Truck 22 responded with 7, and Chief 22-2 responded POV to the scene. Truck 22 arrived on scene and set up on side A ahead of Engine 659. The stokes basket and rigging was set up and used to lower a large obese patient from the second floor through a window to the front porch roof, and then lowered to the EMS litter in front of the structure. After transferring the patient to the ambulance, the Truck went available.
At the request of EMS, Company 22 dispatched to 315 1/2 Market Street in Lykens for a lift assist. Captain and Chief 22 responded to the scene, and Truck 22 responded with 7. On arrival, the Truck staged on Market Street and sent the crew back an alley to the scene. They assisted with removing the patient from the building and loading him on the transport ambulance, and then went available.
Company 22 dispatched class three to 801 Market Street in Lykens for a medical assist, to help EMS with moving an extremely overweight patient. Chief 22 responded POV, along with 5 other company members, and Truck 22 responded with 3. Command requested company 23 be added to the box, and Rescue 23 responded with 4. Lykens Boro PD was also on scene to assist. On arrival, the crew assisted EMS with moving a very large patient from his home to their litter, and into their transport unit for a trip to the hospital. Command then placed the box available.
On December 5, 2007, at 12:45 p.m., the Fisherville fire company was summoned to 141 Mountain House Road, in Jackson Township, for an accident with injuries - a reported vehicle into a structure. Fire company officers arrived on the scene to find one vehicle that was into the chimney of a house. The vehicle had gone through a corner of a small shed and then hit the chimney, but there were no injuries. Engine 216 and Rescue 21 were cancelled shortly after their response.
