| | While most of the active members of the company were at the social club, viewing a video of the fire at the Waters' home in Wiconisco that occurred a few days earlier, the lights flickered and went off three times. Suspecting that something had struck a power pole, members left the building and crossed the street to the station. At the same time, County Dispatch was activating the tones and sirens for Companies 22 and 23 for an accident with injuries and fire on the Glen Road at the little league field. Engine 22 responded, followed by Squad 23. Crews arrived on scene and found a vehicle that had left the roadway and struck and knocked down a PP&L pole directly in front of the entrance to the ballfield. The vehicle was on fire and victims were lying on the ground all around the scene. Firefighters Pell and Shultz, who were in the jump seats of Engine 22, were also EMT's and immediately began triage of patients while EMS units and paramedics arrived. The fire was extinguished quickly, and parts of the pole had to be moved off the vehicle to gain access to its interior to check for victims. All patients were removed from the scene and transported to the hospital, with one fatality. Crews remained on the scene assisting police until they were released. |

| | At the Request of Williamstown EMS on scene, Company 22 dispatched class three to 801 Market Street in Lykens to assist in lifting an extremely obese patient. Truck 22 responded with 6 and 3 additional company members responded POV to the scene. On arrival, the crew waited for the arrival of a special litter from Medic 6, and then assisted in loading the patient in their unit for transport. The Truck then went available. |

| | At the request of Medic 6, Company 22 dispatched class one to 329 South Second Street in Lykens for a unconscious male. EMS had an extended ETA. Chief 22 responded POV, and Truck 22 went enroute with 4. On arrival, the crew established patient contact,and began treatment. This continued until the arrival of Medic 6, and they then assisted with the transfer of the patient to their unit for transport to a hospital. The Company was then placed available.

| | Company 22 dispatched class one to the Rattling Creek Apartments at 15 South Second Street in Lykens Boro for a smoke alarm sounding in an apartment. Chief 22 responded POV and Engine 22 went enroute with 5. Engine 22 arrived on side D of a 4 story multi apartment high rise building of brick construction with the occupant of the affected apartment sitting outside. The Engine crew went interior and accessed the apartment to find the smoke alarm in the apartment activated with nothing evident. After disabling the alarm and investigating the apartment nothing was found. Command placed the box available. |

Engine 22 responded with 5, Chief 22-1 and 4 other members responded POV to the scene and 4 members stood by with Truck 22 in station. On arrival the Engine staged on side D and sent manpower to the second floor of the building to assist EMS with lifting a patient back into their wheelchair and were then placed available. |
